Sales Tip of the Day: HEROES
Last week I interviewed an entire sales team in preparation for some upcoming training sessions I am creating for them.
Most of the folks I met with had a really healthy attitude about sales; but, one of the team made it clear he didn’t see himself as a salesperson because he could never make someone buy something they didn’t need.
He didn’t realize that he had just described a con artist instead of a salesperson.
In my view, salespeople are heroes to their customers because they:
• help the customer articulate their needs
• guide the customer through the available options
• ensure the customer does not make a buying mistake
You can be sure that I will be reinforcing that view during the training sessions with that team so they will know they are heroes too!
