Have you ever talked to a salesperson who was embarrassed to admit they were in sales?
That always amazes me because those who sell are so incredibly important to health of the companies they work for, they other people employed there, and the community in which they all live and work.
Funnier still (to me, anyway) are the many titles and positions that salespeople will put on their business card to avoid using the term “sales”. There’s “account executives”, “client services”, “business development”, and “customer representatives”. I don’t think anyone is fooled by those titles, so why use them?
Hold your head up high (and your business card, too) and simply say, “I am a professional salesperson”. Be proud of what you do and all of the people whose lives are better off because you sold something today.
You are going to sell something today, right?
